One of the discussions in the Church of America is over evangelism methods. What works best for reaching the lost? Should we send people out to where the harvest is in order to reach them or should we as individuals invite our friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family members to church and expose them to the Gospel in a culterally relevant manner through our services?
The right answer is YES! The 1st century church did both and we do both!!!
2 Saturdays ago a group of men went out from our church and we led Tracy to faith in Jesus! This past Sunday we did a special outreach service for our friends with special needs and their families and we were able to lead Jasmine to faith in Jesus in our 2nd service. WE DO BOTH BECAUSEBOTH WORK!
Did you know that a recent survey done by Gallup, 82% of people who don’t attend church say they would attend if invited by a friend. Yet only 2% of Christians ever invite someone to church!
Church… We’ve got fantastic opportunity called our Easter Outreach Services which are coming up in less than 1 1/2 weeks. We have some excellent invitations printed and ready for you to distribute! Some of us are planning neighborhood canvasing events. Some of us are planning to drop off stacks of invites at local businesses. All of us are going to consider who we might invite to church for our Easter celebration services and get the job done!
Finally, we all need to pray for boldness, open doors, and the success of the Gospel in the lives of the lost around us because our church exists to cheat Hell of as many residents as possible and fill up the Kingdom of Heaven for all eternity to the glory of God.
